Lactation Support
Feeding your baby should be an enjoyable experience for both of you. Sometimes nursing goes smoothly from first latch to the last bittersweet nursing session and weaning. Sometimes babies do well learning to take a bottle. Other times, folks need a little help at one point or another to meet their feeding goals. If you anticipate challenges or experience difficulty, many issues can be worked through for a satisfying and successful feeding relationship. Here are some common challenges I can help you work through:
- pain during or between nursing sessions
- concerns about milk supply - too much or too little?
- multiples
- difficulty with latch
- induced lactation and relactation
- concerns about baby's weight gain
- non-gestational nursing
- difficulty introducing a bottle or going between nursing and bottle feedings
- pumping
- feeding sessions that are unusually long or frequent
- returning to work or school
- history of breast/chest/back surgery
- difficulty nursing a previous baby
